About Asma Mirza

‘Let the beauty of what you Love be what you do…’ Rumi
God’s creation, forgotten memories and the discoveries of hidden treasures have always inspired me.
Expressing with a simple pencil line, patterns or colours has been my way of communicating since I was a child. Drawing pictures was my weapon against my struggles of dyslexia. So art became a necessity! Over the years this early childhood habit introduced me to many creative subjects including photography, painting, collecting unusual objects or even reading poetry by a few magnificent and spiritual writers of by gone years. Studying Fine Art gave me further opportunities to explore and experiment with even more wonders and materials.
My journey to rediscovering religion and spirituality has opened deep and thoughtful desires to express myself using traditional Islamic geometric patterns and Arabic Calligraphy in it’s traditional and abstract form. These are my humble efforts of recreating Powerful words of God on canvas to beautify ones surroundings wither it may be your home, office or a community space.
